She is my great-grandmother from Sweden. I never met her, although my mom told me she held me in her arms when I was a newborn. She died shortly there after.
Amanda's life was not easy. It was filled with pain and loss. She was never rich, in fact most would probably consider her to be poor. But she did what she could with what she had. She was skilled in quilting and crocheting. Often, she would create things and try to sell them in the community to earn extra income for her family. I don't know if she was very successful or not but her heart and her story inspires me. She did what she could.
So my work is dedicated to her and what she inspires in me. To do what I can to serve my family, to believe God can use the skills He placed inside me to benefit others, and to not be afraid to try.
